The ACS and the Southeast Region Board will honor several individuals and groups at the annual SERMACS Award Luncheon at noon on Friday, October 26.
Awards to be presented include:
1) The High School Chemistry Teaching award, presented to an outstanding instructor in the Southeast.
2) The Volunteer Service award, presented to an individual who has dedicated their time and efforts to making the ACS a better organization.
3) The Stan Israel award, presented to an individual or institution that has advanced diversity in the chemical sciences.
4) The ACS Industrial Innovation award, presented to an individual or team of industrial chemists and chemical engineers whose innovations have contributed to the success of their company and to the good of society.
In addition, special recognition of ACS Student Affiliates chapters that have achieved an "Outstanding" ranking by the ACS will be made.
