This symposium marks the official opening of the undergraduate component of SERMACS 2007. Conservation Science is an area that relates directly to the theme for the Undergraduate Programming - "Chemistry in the Arts" and we are pleased to have three individuals from this field presenting research in their area of expertise. These presentations are also well aligned with the National Chemistry Week theme of "The Many Faces of Chemistry". Alternate careers in chemistry is one facet of the NCW theme and this look into the field of conservation science provides one great example of an alternate career in chemistry. See following links for a bio on one of our speakers (Karen Trentelman) and an overview of the field of conservation science.
