This symposium will serve to highlight recent innovations and the creative aspects involved in both solid-state syntheses and the structural chemistry of new solids, ranging from oxides to intermetallics. The symposium will be thematically organized into three main areas, including modified and conventional solid-state methods, hydrothermal and solvothermal syntheses, and flux syntheses and other newly emerging types of synthetic methods. Contributed talks will be considered. Graduate students and postdoctoral associates are highly encouraged to submit their abstracts for oral as well as for poster presentations
